Overview

Intrasite Gel is the wound-care professional's hydrogel. An amorphous gel from Smith+Nephew that creates the moist environment wounds need to heal, gently rehydrating dry, dead tissue (necrosis and slough) so the body can clear it, and soothing painful dry wounds. A cornerstone of modern wound management for ulcers, pressure sores and sloughy wounds.

Directions for Use

Use as directed by your wound-care clinician: cleanse the wound, apply the gel to fill or cover the wound bed to a depth of about 5mm, and cover with an appropriate secondary dressing. Change typically every 1-3 days as advised, depending on the wound. Single-patient use; discard opened packs as directed.

Chronic, deep, infected or deteriorating wounds need professional supervision. Hydrogels are part of a clinician-led plan, not a substitute for one. Watch for spreading redness, increased pain, odour or fever (infection) and seek care promptly. Do not use on heavily bleeding wounds. Diabetic foot wounds always warrant professional care.
