Overview
Lamictal 25mg Tablets (30 pack) from GSK contain lamotrigine, a medicine used to control epilepsy and to help stabilise mood in bipolar disorder. In epilepsy, lamotrigine calms the excessive electrical activity in the brain that causes seizures, used alone or with other medicines for various seizure types. In bipolar disorder, it is used mainly to prevent the recurrence of depressive episodes. The 25mg strength is typically used when starting treatment, which is always increased slowly. A doctor-prescribed option helping people manage epilepsy or bipolar mood swings under medical supervision.
Active: Lamotrigine 25mg per tablet.
Directions for Use
This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor. The dose is started low and increased very gradually over several weeks to reduce the risk of a serious rash, so follow the step-up schedule exactly. Swallow with water, with or without food, at the same times each day. Do not stop suddenly, as this can trigger seizures or mood relapse; any change must be gradual and medically supervised.
Stop and seek urgent medical care for any skin rash, blistering, peeling, mouth sores, fever or swollen glands, especially in the first weeks. Lamotrigine can rarely cause a serious skin reaction. Following the slow dose increase greatly lowers this risk; never increase faster than prescribed. Tell your doctor about any mood changes or thoughts of self-harm, liver or kidney problems, and other medicines (including the contraceptive pill, which can affect levels). Do not stop abruptly. Use in pregnancy or breastfeeding only on specialist advice. Store below 30°C. This product information is for general guidance only and does not replace professional medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before starting any new medication or supplement. Keep all medicines out of reach of children.
