Metpure XL 25mg Tablets (30 pack) contain metoprolol succinate in an extended-release (XL) form. It is a beta-blocker used to treat high blood pressure, angina (heart-related chest pain) and heart failure, and to help protect the heart after a heart attack. Metoprolol slows the heart and reduces how hard it has to work, lowering blood pressure, easing chest pain and helping the heart cope better, with steady once-daily control from the extended-release tablet. Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor. Usually one tablet once daily, swallowed WHOLE with water; do not chew or crush the extended-release tablet. Take it at the same time each day, with or without food. Keep taking it even when you feel well, and do not stop suddenly, as this can worsen heart problems. Your doctor will reduce the dose gradually if needed. Attend regular blood-pressure and heart reviews.

May cause tiredness, dizziness, cold hands and feet or a slow heartbeat. Rise slowly and take care driving until you know how it affects you. Tell your doctor about asthma or breathing problems, very slow heart rate, certain heart-conduction problems, or diabetes (it can mask low-blood-sugar signs). Do not stop abruptly.
