Overview
Midodrine 5mg Tablets contain midodrine, a medicine that raises low blood pressure. Used to treat symptomatic orthostatic hypotension, the dizziness, light-headedness and faint feeling that occur on standing when blood pressure drops too low. Midodrine tightens blood vessels to lift standing blood pressure, helping people stay upright and active without fainting.
Directions for Use
This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Take exactly as prescribed, usually in divided doses during the daytime when you need to be upright, and importantly, do NOT take it within about 4 hours of lying down for sleep, to avoid high blood pressure while lying flat. The last dose is typically taken in the early evening. Follow your doctor's specific timing carefully.
Do not lie down soon after a dose. Midodrine can cause dangerously high blood pressure when lying flat; take it for daytime upright activity and follow the timing rules exactly. Report a pounding headache, blurred vision or a slow heartbeat. May cause tingling, goosebumps or scalp itching, and urinary urgency. Not for use with severe heart disease, urinary retention, overactive thyroid or certain eye conditions. Blood pressure (lying and standing) is monitored. Tell your doctor about all medicines. This product information is for general guidance only and does not replace professional medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before starting any new medication or supplement. Keep all medicines out of reach of children.
