Overview

Nasonex Nasal Spray contains mometasone furoate, a corticosteroid that relieves the symptoms of allergic rhinitis (hay fever and year-round nasal allergies). Sprayed into the nose, it reduces inflammation in the nasal lining to ease a blocked, runny or itchy nose and sneezing, and can also help with associated eye symptoms. Because it works locally with regular use, it is well suited to ongoing allergy control rather than instant relief. Nasonex is used by adults and children (as advised) who need steady, effective management of nasal allergy symptoms, especially during pollen seasons or with dust and pet allergies.

Active ingredient: Mometasone furoate 50 mcg per spray (actuation).

Directions for Use

Shake gently before use. Prime the spray before first use (and if not used for a while) until a fine mist appears. Blow your nose, then insert the nozzle into one nostril, keeping the bottle upright, and spray while breathing in gently; repeat as prescribed in the other nostril. The usual dose is one to two sprays in each nostril once daily, or as directed by your doctor. Use regularly for best results. It may take a few days to feel the full benefit. Wipe the nozzle clean after use.

For use in the nose only; avoid spraying into the eyes. Tell your doctor if you have a current nasal infection, recent nose surgery or injury, tuberculosis, or eye problems such as glaucoma or cataracts. Long-term use should be reviewed by your doctor, and you should use the lowest effective dose. Mild nosebleeds, nasal dryness or irritation can occur; seek advice if you get persistent nosebleeds or vision changes. Tell your doctor if pregnant or breastfeeding. Store below 25C; do not freeze.
