Overview
Norvasc 10mg Tablets from Pfizer contain amlodipine, the world's most widely prescribed calcium channel blocker, used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and angina (chest pain). Amlodipine relaxes and widens blood vessels so blood flows more easily, smoothly lowering blood pressure over a full 24 hours and reducing the heart's workload. The 10mg strength is the full maintenance dose for patients needing maximal effect. As the original branded amlodipine, Norvasc offers people living with hypertension a proven, once-daily cornerstone for preventing stroke, heart attack and kidney damage.
Amlodipine (as amlodipine besylate) 10mg per tablet.
Directions for Use
This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Take one tablet once daily, at the same time each day, with or without food. Swallow with water. The full effect builds over 1-2 weeks. Keep taking it consistently even when you feel well. Stopping allows blood pressure to climb back silently. Do not stop without medical advice.
Do not use if allergic to amlodipine or other dihydropyridine calcium channel blockers, in severe low blood pressure, shock or certain heart-valve obstructions. May cause ankle swelling, flushing, headache or dizziness. Usually mild and easing with time, but report persistent swelling. Use caution in severe liver disease and significant heart failure. Avoid large amounts of grapefruit juice. Tell your doctor if pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding. Store below 30°C. This product information is for general guidance only and does not replace professional medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before starting any new medication or supplement. Keep all medicines out of reach of children.
