Overview
Cerazette 75mcg Tablets (84 pack: 3 months' supply) are a progestogen-only contraceptive pill ("mini pill") containing desogestrel. Unlike traditional mini pills, Cerazette works primarily by preventing ovulation, as well as thickening cervical mucus, giving reliable, oestrogen-free contraception. It is particularly suitable for women who cannot take oestrogen, are breastfeeding, smoke, or have high blood pressure or migraine. Taken at the same time every day without a break, Cerazette gives women a discreet, dependable family planning option with a flexible 12-hour missed-pill window.
Desogestrel 75 micrograms per tablet. Contains lactose. Full excipient list available on product packaging.
Directions for Use
This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor, pharmacist or family planning provider. Take one tablet at the same time every day, without any break between packs, starting on day 1 of your period (or as your provider advises). Swallow with water. If you are more than 12 hours late taking a tablet, contraceptive protection may be reduced. Take it as soon as you remember and use condoms for the next 7 days. Vomiting or severe diarrhoea within 3-4 hours of taking a tablet can also reduce protection.
Do not use if you are pregnant, have unexplained vaginal bleeding, active liver disease, a current blood clot (thrombosis), or certain hormone-sensitive cancers such as some breast cancers. Irregular bleeding or spotting is common, especially in the first months; periods may become lighter or stop. This is not harmful. Cerazette does not protect against HIV or other sexually transmitted infections. Use condoms for protection. Some medicines (e.g., certain epilepsy, TB and HIV treatments) reduce its effectiveness. Tell your provider everything you take. Safe during breastfeeding. Store below 30°C. This product information is for general guidance only and does not replace professional medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before starting any new medication or supplement. Keep all medicines out of reach of children.
