Overview

Progynova 2mg Tablets (20 pack) contain estradiol valerate, a form of the natural female hormone oestrogen, from Bayer. It is prescribed as hormone replacement therapy (HRT) to relieve menopausal symptoms. Hot flushes, night sweats, vaginal dryness and mood changes. Caused by falling oestrogen, and in specialist fertility and gynaecology protocols to build the womb lining. By restoring oestrogen levels, Progynova helps women feel like themselves again through menopause, used at the lowest effective dose under medical supervision.

Estradiol valerate 2mg per sugar-coated tablet. Contains lactose and sucrose.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor. Usually one tablet daily at the same time each day, with or without food, often in cycles as advised. Women with an intact womb normally need an added progestogen to protect the womb lining. Follow your prescriber's regimen exactly. Attend regular HRT reviews, breast screening and report any unusual bleeding.

Do not use with current or past breast cancer, oestrogen-dependent cancers, unexplained vaginal bleeding, previous blood clots, recent heart attack or stroke, or active liver disease. HRT slightly raises the risk of blood clots, stroke and breast cancer. Risks and benefits should be reviewed at least yearly. Stop and seek urgent care for leg swelling, chest pain, breathlessness or severe headache. Not a contraceptive; not for use in pregnancy or breastfeeding. Store below 30°C.
