Overview

Livial 2.5mg Tablets (28 pack) from Organon contain tibolone, a once-daily hormone therapy for women after the menopause. Tibolone has combined oestrogen-, progestogen- and androgen-like actions that relieve menopausal symptoms such as hot flushes, night sweats, mood changes and vaginal dryness, and help protect against the bone loss (osteoporosis) that accelerates after menopause. Taken as a single daily tablet without a monthly bleed in most women, it offers women a convenient option for managing menopause under medical supervision.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor. Usually one 2.5mg tablet once daily at the same time each day, swallowed whole with water, with or without food. Start only at least 12 months after your last natural period. Take it continuously without a break unless your doctor advises otherwise, and attend regular reviews to reassess whether you should continue.

Not for use with a history of breast or hormone-dependent cancer, blood clots, stroke, heart attack, unexplained vaginal bleeding, or active liver disease. Like other hormone therapies, tibolone may slightly increase the risk of breast cancer, stroke and blood clots. Use the lowest dose for the shortest time and review yearly. Report unexpected vaginal bleeding, breast lumps, leg swelling or pain, chest pain or sudden severe headache. Not for use in pregnancy or breastfeeding. Store below 25°C.
