Overview
Vagiduo Pessaries are vaginal inserts that typically combine an antifungal with an antibacterial agent to treat vaginal infections caused by more than one organism. Combination pessaries of this kind are used for mixed or recurrent vaginal infections. Such as thrush (Candida) occurring alongside bacterial vaginosis or trichomonas. Relieving the itching, abnormal discharge, soreness and odour these infections cause. Placed directly in the vagina, they act locally where the infection is. Because brand formulations vary, the exact active ingredients should be confirmed from the packaging or with your pharmacist. A doctor-prescribed option helping women clear troublesome vaginal infections. Confirm composition on the pack.
Vaginal pessary. Typically an antifungal (e.g. clotrimazole) with an antibacterial/antiprotozoal (e.g. metronidazole). Confirm exact composition on the product packaging.
Directions for Use
This is usually a prescription or pharmacist medicine. Use only as directed. Commonly one pessary inserted high into the vagina at night for the number of nights prescribed (often 3 to 7). Wash your hands, and insert using the applicator if provided or with a clean finger, lying down. Using it at bedtime helps it stay in place. Complete the full course even if symptoms improve and even during a period (use pads, not tampons). Avoid sex, or use protection, during treatment as directed.
Confirm the active ingredients with your pharmacist before use. If the pessary contains a metronidazole-type ingredient, avoid alcohol during and shortly after the course. Some pessaries and their applicators can weaken latex condoms and diaphragms. Check the pack. See a doctor if symptoms do not clear, keep returning, or come with fever or pelvic pain. Use in pregnancy only on medical advice. Store below 30°C. This product information is for general guidance only and does not replace professional medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before starting any new medication or supplement. Keep all medicines out of reach of children.
