Salbutamol Syrup (100ml) contains salbutamol, a bronchodilator (reliever) medicine that opens up the airways to ease breathing. The liquid form is especially useful for children and anyone who finds inhalers difficult. It is used to relieve the wheeze, breathlessness, chest tightness and cough of asthma and other reversible airway conditions by relaxing the muscles around the airways so they widen. A doctor-prescribed reliever helping families ease asthma and breathing symptoms. Confirm the active on the pack, and ask your doctor whether an inhaler may suit better.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Shake or measure carefully and give the exact dose your doctor prescribes (based on age/weight), using the measure provided. Usually three to four times a day. Do not exceed the prescribed dose or frequency. If you or your child need it more and more often, or it is not helping, contact your doctor, as the asthma may need review. Many doctors prefer an inhaler where possible, as it works faster with fewer side effects.

May cause a faster heartbeat, shakiness (tremor), restlessness or headache, especially at higher doses. Tell your doctor if these are troublesome. Needing your reliever more often is a sign that asthma is not well controlled and needs medical review. Do not just keep increasing it.
