Tenormin 100mg Tablets contain atenolol, the original branded beta-blocker from AstraZeneca, used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension), angina (chest pain) and certain irregular heart rhythms, and to protect the heart after a heart attack. Atenolol works selectively on the heart, slowing the heart rate and reducing its workload so it pumps more efficiently. The 100mg strength is a full maintenance dose for established therapy. Tenormin remains a trusted name in long-term blood pressure and heart care for patients (28 tablets per pack).

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Take one tablet once daily, at the same time each day, with or without food. Swallow whole with water. Keep taking it even when you feel well. High blood pressure usually has no symptoms. Do not stop suddenly: your doctor will reduce the dose gradually if treatment needs to change, as abrupt stopping can worsen angina or trigger heart problems.

Do not use if you have asthma or severe wheezing, a very slow heartbeat, certain heart-rhythm disorders or untreated heart failure. Use with caution in diabetes. Atenolol can mask the warning signs of low blood sugar, and in kidney disease, where dose adjustment may be needed. May cause tiredness, cold hands and feet, dizziness or slow heartbeat. Limit alcohol, which enhances blood-pressure lowering. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding. Store below 30°C in a dry place.
