Overview

Advantan Cream 30g contains methylprednisolone aceponate, a potent topical corticosteroid used to treat inflammatory skin conditions. Such as eczema (atopic and contact dermatitis) and other dermatitis. Calming the redness, itching, swelling and irritation. From Bayer, it is designed to be effective once daily, with a favourable balance of potency and skin tolerability.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Apply a thin layer to the affected skin once daily (or as directed), gently rubbing in, for the short course prescribed. Usually no more than a couple of weeks unless your doctor advises otherwise. Use sparingly only on affected areas. Do not use under airtight dressings or on the face, groin or large areas long-term unless specifically directed. Wash hands after applying.

A potent steroid for short-term use on affected skin only. Avoid the eyes, and use on the face, skin folds and in children only as specifically directed and briefly, as prolonged use can thin the skin, cause stretch marks or other changes. Do not use on infected, broken or weeping skin without treating the infection. Stop and review if the skin does not improve, worsens or shows signs of infection.
