Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Take one tablet once daily, with or without food, at a consistent time. Benefits build gradually over several weeks. Keep taking it even when you start to feel better, and do not stop without your doctor's guidance. Vortioxetine can usually be stopped without lengthy tapering, but follow your doctor's advice.

In the early weeks, especially in younger adults, mood may dip or unusual thoughts can occur. Report any worsening, agitation or thoughts of self-harm promptly and keep follow-up appointments. Common effects include nausea, especially at first. Avoid with MAO inhibitors; use caution with other serotonergic medicines, triptans, tramadol and blood thinners (serotonin and bleeding risks). Tell your doctor about bipolar disorder, bleeding problems, pregnancy and all medicines. Limit alcohol.
