Overview

Eplife 25mg Tablets contain eplerenone 25mg, a selective aldosterone blocker used in heart failure. Particularly after a heart attack, and in resistant hypertension. Eplerenone blocks aldosterone's harmful remodelling of the heart and vessels, improving survival in suitable heart failure patients, with far less breast tenderness than older aldosterone blockers.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Take one tablet once daily, with or without food, at a consistent time. Treatment typically starts at 25mg with adjustment by your doctor. Attend all scheduled blood tests: potassium and kidney function monitoring is an essential part of safe treatment.

High potassium is the key risk. Avoid potassium supplements, potassium-containing salt substitutes and excessive high-potassium foods unless advised; report muscle weakness, tingling or palpitations. Blood tests are mandatory at the schedule your doctor sets. Avoid strong interacting medicines (certain antifungals, clarithromycin) and use NSAIDs cautiously. Doses are limited in kidney impairment.
