Overview

Esoglax 20mg Tablets (30 pack) contain esomeprazole 20mg, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that strongly reduces stomach acid. It is used for acid reflux and GERD, healing and prevention of stomach and duodenal ulcers (including those linked to NSAIDs), and as part of treatment to clear H. pylori. Esomeprazole blocks acid production at its source, relieving heartburn and allowing the inflamed gullet, stomach and ulcers to heal.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Take one tablet once daily, in the morning at least 30-60 minutes before food, swallowed whole with water. Do not crush or chew. Take consistently for the course prescribed. If long-term use is needed, your doctor will review the lowest effective dose. Confirm your regimen with your pharmacist.

Long-term acid suppression should be medically reviewed. It can affect absorption of magnesium, vitamin B12 and calcium, and slightly raises infection and fracture risk with prolonged use. Report difficulty or pain swallowing, unintended weight loss, black stools or vomiting blood. These need urgent assessment, not just acid treatment. Tell your doctor about all medicines, as PPIs interact with several (including clopidogrel and certain HIV medicines). Use in pregnancy on medical advice.
