    Ferric Carboxymaltose 500mg/10ml Injection is an intravenous iron preparation used to treat iron-deficiency anaemia when oral iron is not enough, not tolerated, or rapid correction is needed. Such as in significant deficiency, chronic kidney disease, heart failure, inflammatory bowel disease or after major blood loss. It rapidly replenishes the body's iron stores under medical supervision. This medicine is administered under specialist medical supervision only.

    Directions for Use
    This is a prescription medicine. Dosage is determined by your prescribing doctor based on your individual needs. Do not adjust your dose without medical supervision. Administered by a healthcare professional as an intravenous injection or infusion, with the dose calculated from your weight and the severity of iron deficiency, given in a clinical setting with monitoring. Often a large dose is given in one or two sessions. Blood tests guide treatment and check the response afterward. This medicine is administered under specialist medical supervision only.

    Given under supervision because allergic and infusion reactions can occur. You will be monitored during and after. Report any difficulty breathing, dizziness, rash or swelling during the infusion immediately. Skin staining can occur if the injection leaks. Report pain or burning at the site at once. Tell the team about allergies, asthma, liver problems and pregnancy. Not for iron overload or anaemia not caused by iron deficiency. Blood phosphate may be checked with repeated dosing.
