Overview
Glifempa XR 10/1000mg Tablets (30 pack) combine empagliflozin 10mg, an SGLT2 inhibitor, with metformin 1000mg in an extended-release (XR) form. For type 2 diabetes needing combination therapy. Empagliflozin helps the kidneys flush excess glucose through the urine, adding heart and kidney protection, while extended-release metformin curbs the liver's glucose output with once-daily, stomach-friendlier dosing.
Directions for Use
This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Take as prescribed, usually once daily with the evening meal, swallowed whole with water. Do not crush or chew the extended-release tablet (an empty tablet shell may appear in the stool, which is normal). Maintain good hydration, continue diet and exercise, and monitor blood sugar as advised. Confirm the active with your pharmacist.
Seek urgent care for nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain or rapid breathing. Possible ketoacidosis even with near-normal glucose. Genital thrush and urinary infections are more likely. Treatment pauses during serious illness, before surgery or contrast scans (both components). Caution in kidney impairment; limit alcohol (rare lactic acidosis risk with metformin). May cause dizziness from fluid loss with diuretics. Not for type 1 diabetes. Confirm the active on the pack. This product information is for general guidance only and does not replace professional medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before starting any new medication or supplement. Keep all medicines out of reach of children.
Empagliflozin 10mg and Metformin hydrochloride 1000mg extended-release (active ingredients. Confirm on packaging).
