Overview

Montebasto 10mg Tablets (10 pack) pair montelukast with ebastine. A leukotriene receptor antagonist and a long-acting, low-drowsiness antihistamine. In one daily tablet for allergic rhinitis and allergy-driven asthma symptoms. Montelukast blocks the leukotrienes that swell and tighten airways, while ebastine switches off histamine-driven sneezing, runny nose and itchy, watery eyes. Together they cover both arms of the allergic response, offering people with persistent allergies or allergic asthma rounder symptom control than an antihistamine alone.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor. Usually one tablet once daily in the evening, with or without food. Take it every day, even when symptom-free, for steady prevention. It does not relieve a sudden asthma attack. Keep a reliever inhaler for emergencies, and continue other prescribed asthma medicines unless told otherwise.

Not for acute asthma attacks. May cause mild drowsiness, headache or dry mouth. Observe your response before driving. Report mood or behaviour changes (recognised rarely with montelukast). Caution with liver impairment and with medicines like ketoconazole or erythromycin that raise ebastine levels; tell your doctor everything you take. Use in pregnancy and breastfeeding only on medical advice. Store below 30°C protected from moisture.
