Monteru (montelukast) is a prescription tablet used to manage asthma and to relieve symptoms of allergic rhinitis (such as a runny, itchy or blocked nose and sneezing). It belongs to the leukotriene receptor antagonist class and works by blocking leukotrienes. Chemicals that cause airway narrowing, inflammation and allergy symptoms. Helping to keep the airways open and reduce flare-ups. It is used for long-term asthma control and allergy relief in adults and children , as prescribed.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Montelukast is usually taken once daily in the evening. Swallow with water. For asthma, take it regularly even when you feel well. It is for prevention, not for relieving a sudden asthma attack, for which you still need your reliever inhaler. Do not exceed the prescribed dose.

Tell your doctor about any mood or behaviour changes, such as anxiety, depression, sleep problems or unusual thoughts, as these have rarely been reported.
