Overview

Montyfex Tablets (10 pack) contain montelukast, a leukotriene receptor blocker used for asthma maintenance and allergic rhinitis. Montelukast blocks leukotrienes. The inflammatory messengers that tighten airways and trigger allergy symptoms. Adding overnight protection in one evening dose, used alongside (not instead of) reliever and preventer inhalers as directed.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Take one tablet once daily in the evening, as prescribed. Use every day for prevention, even when symptom-free. Montelukast prevents. It does not relieve sudden asthma attacks: always keep a reliever inhaler available. Confirm the strength and formulation on the pack.

Be alert to mood and behaviour changes. Agitation, sleep disturbance, vivid dreams, anxiety or depression have been reported; report them promptly and discuss continuing treatment, especially in children. Never use in place of a reliever inhaler during an attack. Continue your other asthma medicines as prescribed. Tell your doctor about all medicines. Seek review if asthma control worsens.
