    Overview
    Hydrocortisone 10mg Tablets (30 pack) contain hydrocortisone, a corticosteroid (steroid) hormone taken by mouth. It is used mainly as replacement therapy when the body does not make enough of its own steroid hormones. Such as in adrenal insufficiency (Addison's disease) or after the adrenal glands or pituitary are affected, and sometimes to reduce inflammation. Hydrocortisone replaces or supplements the body's natural cortisol, which is essential for many body functions. A doctor-prescribed medicine helping affected patients.     Directions for Use
    This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor. The dose is set for you, usually divided through the day (often a larger morning dose), swallowed with water, with or after food. If you take it as replacement therapy, do NOT stop suddenly, and your doctor may tell you to increase the dose during illness, injury or surgery (a 'sick day' rule). Carry a steroid card and attend your reviews.

    If used as steroid replacement, never stop suddenly. This can cause a dangerous adrenal crisis; you may need extra doses when ill, and should carry a steroid alert card. Tell your doctor about infections, diabetes, high blood pressure, stomach ulcers, or osteoporosis, and report signs of infection. Long-term steroids have a range of effects your doctor will monitor.
