Overview

Urikind-KM Sachets (6 pack) supply potassium magnesium citrate, used to make the urine less acidic (alkalinise it) and to help prevent certain kidney stones. By raising urinary pH and citrate levels, it helps dissolve and prevent uric-acid and calcium-oxalate stones, and can ease the burning of acidic urine. The citrate also helps reduce stone formation in people prone to recurrent kidney stones. A useful preventive therapy for patients with a history of stones, used under medical guidance.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription/pharmacist medicine. Use only as directed. Usually dissolve the contents of one sachet in a glass of water and drink, one to three times daily after meals, or as advised. Drink plenty of fluids throughout the day to help flush the urinary tract. Your doctor may check your urine pH to guide the dose. Take consistently for the period advised.

Tell your doctor about kidney impairment, high blood potassium, or heart problems, and about medicines that raise potassium (such as ACE inhibitors, ARBs and potassium-sparing diuretics). High potassium can be dangerous. Maintain a good fluid intake. Report muscle weakness, irregular heartbeat, severe stomach pain or persistent vomiting.
