Overview

Clexane 20mg Injection (2 pre-filled syringes) contains enoxaparin, a low-molecular-weight heparin that helps prevent and treat harmful blood clots. It thins the blood to stop clots forming in the legs (deep vein thrombosis) or lungs, and is used around surgery, during periods of reduced mobility, in certain heart conditions and in some pregnancies. By reducing the risk of dangerous clots, Clexane helps protect against complications such as pulmonary embolism and stroke. Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Use exactly as directed by your doctor. It is given as an injection just under the skin (subcutaneously), usually into the fold of the tummy, often once daily. A nurse or doctor will show you or a carer the correct technique if you are to inject at home. Do not rub the site afterwards, rotate injection sites, and do not stop or change the dose without advice. Dispose of used syringes in a sharps container.

Increases the risk of bleeding. Watch for unusual bruising, bleeding gums, nosebleeds, blood in urine or stools, or black stools, and seek help for any major or unstoppable bleeding. Tell your doctor about ulcers, recent surgery, kidney problems, low platelets or other blood-thinning medicines (including aspirin and some painkillers). Not for injection into muscle.
