Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor. One 150mg tablet once a month, on the same date each month. Take it first thing in the morning on an empty stomach with a full glass of plain water (not mineral water, juice or tea), at least 60 minutes before any food, drink or other medicines. Stay upright. Sitting or standing. For a full hour after the dose. Take calcium and vitamin D as your doctor advises, at a different time of day.

Do not use with abnormalities of the oesophagus, inability to stay upright for an hour, low blood calcium, or severe kidney impairment. Stop and seek care for pain or difficulty swallowing, chest pain or new heartburn. Tell your dentist you take a bisphosphonate before dental procedures (rare jaw osteonecrosis risk); report thigh or groin pain (rare atypical fractures). Not for use in pregnancy or breastfeeding.
