Overview
Memantine 10mg Tablets (28 pack) contain memantine, a medicine used to treat moderate to severe Alzheimer's disease. Memantine works on a brain chemical system (NMDA/glutamate) involved in learning and memory, helping to slow the decline in memory, thinking and daily functioning. It supports people with Alzheimer's in maintaining function for longer, under specialist guidance.
Directions for Use
This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Take as prescribed. Treatment is usually started at a low dose and increased gradually each week to the maintenance dose, taken once daily (or as directed), with or without food. Take it at the same time each day. A carer often helps manage and monitor the medicine. Do not change the dose without medical advice.
May cause dizziness, headache, drowsiness or constipation, particularly when starting or increasing the dose. Tell your doctor about kidney problems (doses are reduced), epilepsy or a history of seizures, and heart conditions. Tell your doctor about all medicines, as memantine interacts with some (including certain other medicines acting on the same brain system and some bladder/cough medicines). Report significant confusion, hallucinations or seizures. Use within a supervised dementia-care plan. This product information is for general guidance only and does not replace professional medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before starting any new medication or supplement. Keep all medicines out of reach of children.
