Keppra 750mg Tablets contain levetiracetam, a widely used anti-epileptic medicine that helps control and prevent seizures. It works by calming excessive electrical activity in the brain that triggers seizures, and is used both on its own and alongside other epilepsy medicines for several seizure types. Levetiracetam is valued for being effective with relatively few drug interactions. Keppra is prescribed for adults and children with epilepsy and is taken regularly, long term, under the supervision of a doctor to keep seizures under control and support a more settled, active daily life.

Directions for Use

This medicine requires a prescription. Use only as directed by your doctor. Keppra is usually taken twice a day, morning and evening, with or without food, swallowed whole with water. Doses are adjusted gradually by your doctor to suit you. Take it at the same times each day and continue regularly even when seizure-free. Do not stop suddenly, as this can trigger seizures. Any change must be made gradually under medical supervision. If you miss a dose, follow your doctor's advice rather than doubling up.

Do not stop taking Keppra abruptly, as this may cause rebound seizures. Tell your doctor if you have kidney problems, as the dose may need adjusting, and report any new or worsening low mood, anxiety, agitation or thoughts of self-harm, which should be acted on promptly. It may cause drowsiness or dizziness, so take care driving or using machinery until you know how it affects you, and avoid alcohol. Tell your doctor if pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding.
