Overview
Lacosa Q 100mg Tablets contain lacosamide, an anti-epileptic medicine used to treat partial-onset (focal) seizures, alone or alongside other anti-epileptic drugs. Lacosamide helps stabilise overactive nerve signalling in the brain to reduce the frequency of seizures, supporting better seizure control as part of an individualised epilepsy treatment plan, under specialist supervision.
Directions for Use
This is a prescription medicine. Dosage is determined by your prescribing doctor based on your individual needs. Do not adjust your dose without medical supervision. Take as prescribed, usually twice daily at consistent times, with or without food. Treatment is started low and increased gradually. Take it regularly and never stop suddenly. Anti-epileptics must be reduced gradually under medical supervision, as abrupt stopping can trigger seizures. Confirm your regimen with your doctor.
May cause dizziness, double vision, headache or unsteadiness, especially when starting or increasing the dose. Take care with driving and activities needing balance until stable. Report fainting, palpitations or an irregular heartbeat (lacosamide can affect heart rhythm). Tell your doctor about heart conditions. Report any new or worsening depression or thoughts of self-harm. Avoid alcohol. Tell your doctor about all medicines and any heart, liver or kidney problems. This product information is for general guidance only and does not replace professional medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before starting any new medication or supplement. Keep all medicines out of reach of children.
