Overview

Gabacare Tablets contain gabapentin, a medicine that calms over-active nerve signals. It is used to relieve nerve (neuropathic) pain. Such as the burning, shooting or tingling pain of diabetic nerve damage or after shingles, and as an add-on treatment for certain types of epilepsy to help prevent seizures. Gabapentin works by quietening the excess electrical activity in nerves that drives pain and seizures. Some versions also add vitamin B12 to support nerve health. Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor. Usually two to three times a day, swallowed with water, with or without food. The dose is started low and increased gradually to reduce side effects. Do not stop suddenly. This can trigger seizures in epilepsy or cause withdrawal effects; your doctor will reduce the dose slowly if treatment ends. Keep to your prescribed schedule.

May cause drowsiness, dizziness or unsteadiness, especially at first. Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how it affects you, and avoid alcohol. Tell your doctor about kidney problems (the dose needs adjusting), mood changes or any thoughts of self-harm, and a history of substance misuse, as gabapentin can be misused. Do not stop abruptly.
