Overview

Trimex Mucolytic is an oral cough syrup that helps relieve a chesty cough with thick, sticky mucus. A mucolytic works by thinning and loosening the mucus (phlegm) in the airways, making it less sticky and easier to cough up and clear. This helps relieve the chest congestion that comes with coughs, colds and chest infections. The measured liquid is convenient to dose for adults and children. Directions for Use

Shake well before use. Take by mouth using the cap or a measuring spoon, at the dose stated on the packaging (commonly a few times a day for adults, with adjusted doses for children). It can be taken with or without water; drinking plenty of fluids helps thin the mucus. Do not exceed the recommended dose.

Confirm the active ingredient against the packaging, especially if you have asthma, a stomach ulcer, or liver or kidney problems, or take other medicines. Do not take it together with a cough-suppressant medicine (one that stops you coughing) at the same time, as you need to be able to cough up the loosened mucus. Use in pregnancy or breastfeeding only after advice. Seek medical help if the cough lasts more than a week, or comes with high fever, breathlessness or blood. Store below 30°C, away from light.
