Overview

Metadol Fizz is a prescription combination painkiller in an effervescent tablet, containing paracetamol and tramadol (a mild opioid). The two work together to relieve moderate to moderately severe pain more effectively than either alone. Paracetamol for general pain and fever, and tramadol acting on the central nervous system to dampen pain signals. The effervescent format dissolves in water for easy dosing. Because it contains a controlled opioid, Metadol Fizz is used for short-term pain relief in adults under medical supervision.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine containing an opioid (tramadol). Take only as directed by your doctor. Do not exceed the prescribed dose or take it more often than directed. Dissolve one tablet fully in a glass of water and drink. Do not take other paracetamol-containing medicines at the same time, to avoid overdose. Use for the shortest time needed, and do not stop suddenly after regular use without your doctor's advice.

Contains tramadol, an opioid with a risk of dependence, drowsiness and, in overdose or with alcohol/sedatives, dangerously slow breathing. Do not drink alcohol and avoid driving until you know how it affects you. Never exceed the dose or combine with other paracetamol or tramadol products. Tell your doctor about epilepsy, breathing, liver or kidney problems, and other medicines (especially sedatives or antidepressants. Risk of serotonin syndrome). Effervescent tablets contain sodium.
