Overview
Diamicron MR 60mg from Servier contains gliclazide in a modified-release (MR) form, a sulfonylurea medicine for type 2 diabetes. It is a prescription medicine used, alongside diet and exercise, to lower and control blood sugar levels in adults with type 2 diabetes. Gliclazide works by helping the pancreas release more insulin, which lowers blood glucose. The modified-release tablet provides steady control over the day with convenient once-daily dosing. It is widely used to help manage type 2 diabetes as part of an overall treatment plan.
Gliclazide 60mg (modified-release).
Directions for Use
This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. It is taken once a day with breakfast, swallowed whole with water. Do not crush or chew the modified-release tablet. Your doctor will set and adjust the dose. Never skip meals while taking it, as this raises the risk of low blood sugar. Take it at the same time each day.
It can cause low blood sugar (hypoglycaemia), especially if you skip meals, exercise more than usual, drink alcohol, or take certain other medicines. Learn the warning signs (shakiness, sweating, hunger, confusion) and how to treat them. Tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver problems, or G6PD deficiency. Avoid excess alcohol. Continue your diabetes diet and monitoring. Use in pregnancy or breastfeeding only on advice (insulin is usually preferred). Store below 30°C.
