Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. The usual dose is one tablet twice daily, taken with or just after meals to reduce stomach upset. Swallow whole with water at the same times each day. Keep taking it consistently, monitor your blood sugar as advised, and do not stop or change the dose without medical guidance.

Do not use in type 1 diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis, severe kidney or liver disease, or conditions predisposing to lactic acidosis (severe dehydration, serious infection, heavy alcohol use). Your doctor will check liver enzymes and kidney function before and during treatment. Report unexplained nausea, abdominal pain, dark urine or jaundice promptly. Stop temporarily before surgery or contrast X-ray dye as advised. May cause mild stomach upset, headache or dizziness. Tell your doctor if pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding.
