Gliclaz-M Tablets (10 pack) combine two oral diabetes medicines for type 2 diabetes. Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor. Usually with or just after meals (often breakfast, and the evening meal if taken twice daily), swallowed whole with water. Do not skip the meal after taking it, as this can cause low blood sugar. Take it consistently alongside a balanced diet and regular activity, and attend reviews of blood sugar, HbA1c and kidney function. Confirm the exact strengths on the pack.

The gliclazide component can cause low blood sugar (hypoglycaemia). Know the signs and how to treat it, especially if meals are missed or with alcohol or extra exercise. The metformin component carries a rare risk of lactic acidosis. Not for use with significant kidney impairment or dehydration; stop temporarily around surgery, serious illness or contrast X-ray scans. Report unusual muscle pain, deep rapid breathing or severe weakness. Long-term metformin may lower vitamin B12. Use in pregnancy and breastfeeding only on medical advice. Store below 30°C.
