Piogluc 15mg Tablets contain pioglitazone, an oral diabetes medicine in the thiazolidinedione class used with diet and exercise to improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes. Pioglitazone works by reducing insulin resistance. Helping your body's own insulin work more effectively in muscle, fat and liver tissue. It may be prescribed alone or together with other diabetes tablets such as metformin when blood sugar targets are not being met. Piogluc 15mg offers people with type 2 diabetes an affordable insulin-sensitising option as part of a doctor-supervised treatment plan.

Directions for Use
This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Piogluc is usually taken once daily, at the same time each day, with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole with water. It may take several weeks to reach its full blood-sugar-lowering effect, so keep taking it consistently and continue monitoring your blood glucose as your doctor advises. Do not change the dose or stop without medical guidance.
Not suitable for people with heart failure, active bladder cancer, unexplained blood in the urine, type 1 diabetes or significant liver disease. May cause fluid retention (swollen ankles), weight gain or, with long-term use, an increased risk of bone fractures, particularly in women. Tell your doctor if you notice breathlessness or rapid weight gain. Not recommended in pregnancy or breastfeeding. Risk of low blood sugar increases when combined with other diabetes medicines.
