Overview
Flarex 0.1% Eye Drops contain fluorometholone acetate, a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation in the eye. They are prescribed for short-term treatment of eye inflammation and allergic conditions, and inflammation following eye surgery, easing redness, swelling, itching and irritation. Fluorometholone is designed to act on the eye surface with a lower tendency to raise eye pressure than some other steroids. Supplied as a 5ml bottle for use under medical guidance.
Active ingredient: Fluorometholone acetate 0.1%.
Directions for Use
This medicine requires a prescription. Use only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Shake the bottle well. Wash your hands, tilt your head back, pull down the lower eyelid and instil the prescribed number of drops, usually a few times daily. Avoid touching the dropper tip to the eye. Remove contact lenses before use and follow your doctor's advice on reinserting them.
Not for use in untreated eye infections, including many viral and fungal conditions, which steroids can worsen. Use only as prescribed. Prolonged use can raise eye pressure (glaucoma) and is monitored. Do not share the bottle and discard as advised after opening. May cause brief stinging or blurred vision.
