Overview
Xola Eye Drops contain latanoprost 0.005%, a once-daily prostaglandin analogue prescribed for open-angle glaucoma and raised eye pressure (ocular hypertension). Latanoprost improves the natural drainage of fluid from the eye, lowering pressure and protecting the optic nerve from the gradual, silent vision loss glaucoma causes. Because glaucoma often runs unnoticed until late, consistent daily treatment is sight-saving. A convenient evening drop that helps people with glaucoma preserve their vision long-term, used under ophthalmologist care.
Latanoprost 0.005% w/v (50 micrograms/ml) eye drops. Confirm on product packaging. Contains benzalkonium chloride preservative.
Directions for Use
This is a prescription medicine. Use only as directed by your eye specialist. Usually one drop into the affected eye(s) once daily in the evening. Wash hands, tilt the head back, pull down the lower lid and instil one drop without the tip touching the eye. Press the inner corner of the eye for a minute afterwards. Remove contact lenses before use; reinsert after 15 minutes. Do not exceed once daily. More frequent use reduces effectiveness.
May gradually and permanently darken eye colour (iris pigmentation), darken eyelid skin, and lengthen or thicken lashes. Usually cosmetic, but discuss if treating one eye only. Mild stinging, redness or gritty feeling can occur. Report eye pain, swelling or vision change promptly. Caution with a history of eye inflammation (uveitis) or macular oedema. Use in pregnancy only on specialist advice. Store as directed on the pack (often refrigerated before opening); discard 4 weeks after opening. This product information is for general guidance only and does not replace professional medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before starting any new medication or supplement. Keep all medicines out of reach of children.
