Esome 40mg Capsules (14 pack) contain esomeprazole, a powerful proton pump inhibitor that switches off the stomach's acid factories at their source. Prescribed for gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD), erosive oesophagitis, stomach and duodenal ulcers, H. pylori eradication (with antibiotics) and prevention of NSAID-related ulcers, this higher 40mg strength heals inflamed gullets and stubborn ulcers while relieving heartburn and acid regurgitation. A modern, well-tolerated acid suppressant for people whose reflux needs more than antacids.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor. Usually one 40mg capsule once daily, swallowed whole with water at least 30-60 minutes before a meal, preferably breakfast. Do not crush or chew; if swallowing is difficult, the capsule may be opened and granules sprinkled on a spoonful of soft food and swallowed immediately. Complete the prescribed course. Healing often takes 4-8 weeks.

Persistent reflux despite treatment, difficulty swallowing, vomiting blood, black stools or unexplained weight loss need prompt investigation. Long-term use can lower magnesium and vitamin B12 and may increase fracture risk. Use the lowest effective dose with periodic review. Esomeprazole interacts with clopidogrel, some HIV medicines and antifungals. Tell your doctor everything you take. Consult a doctor in pregnancy and breastfeeding. Store below 30°C.
