Prescribed for reflux disease (GORD) in infants and children who cannot swallow capsules, the granules mix into water to form a gentle suspension that heals acid irritation of the food pipe and eases reflux symptoms like regurgitation, feeding difficulty and heartburn. Esomeprazole (as magnesium trihydrate) 10mg gastro-resistant granules per sachet. Contains sucrose.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Use only as directed by your child's doctor. Empty the sachet into a glass with about 15ml (3 teaspoons) of water. Never fizzy water, milk or juice. Stir, leave a few minutes to thicken, stir again and give within 30 minutes. Rinse the glass with a little more water and give that too, so the full dose is taken. Usually given once daily at the same time, before food.

Do not crush or chew the granules. Their coating protects the medicine from stomach acid. Tell the doctor about liver problems and all other medicines. Long courses may affect magnesium and vitamin B12. Reviews are advised. Seek medical review rather than extending treatment if symptoms persist; vomiting with blood, poor weight gain or difficulty swallowing always needs urgent assessment.
