Overview

Pantocid 40mg Tablets contain pantoprazole 40mg, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that powerfully reduces stomach acid. Treating acid reflux and heartburn (GERD), stomach and duodenal ulcers, and conditions of excess acid, and protecting the stomach during long-term anti-inflammatory use. Pantoprazole switches off acid production at the source, allowing the gut lining to heal and easing burning symptoms.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Take one tablet once daily, ideally 30-60 minutes before breakfast, swallowed whole with water. Do not crush or chew the enteric-coated tablet. Take consistently for the course prescribed; benefits build over a few days. For longer-term use, follow your doctor's review schedule.

Use long-term only under medical review. Prolonged PPI use is linked to lower magnesium, vitamin B12 and, with extended use, bone-density concerns, and may slightly raise certain gut infection risks. Report persistent diarrhoea, muscle cramps or unusual symptoms. Seek assessment for alarm symptoms. Difficulty swallowing, weight loss, vomiting blood or black stools. Rather than continued self-treatment. Tell your doctor about all medicines, as PPIs interact with some (e.g. certain HIV medicines, methotrexate, and clopidogrel cautions).
