Overview
Risek 20mg (omeprazole) is a prescription proton pump inhibitor (PPI) used to reduce stomach acid. It treats acid-related conditions such as gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD/heartburn), stomach and duodenal ulcers, and excess-acid conditions, and is used alongside antibiotics to treat H. pylori infection. By lowering acid production, it relieves symptoms and allows the stomach and gullet lining to heal. It is used by adults , often as a short course or longer-term under medical guidance.
Directions for Use
This is a prescription/pharmacist medicine. Take as directed. Risek 20mg is usually taken once daily, in the morning before food, swallowed whole with water (do not chew). For more severe conditions the dose may be higher or twice daily as prescribed. Take for the full course advised; do not stop early for ulcer treatment.
Tell your doctor if symptoms are severe or include difficulty swallowing, unintended weight loss, vomiting blood or black stools. These need urgent assessment. Long-term use should be reviewed (it can affect magnesium, vitamin B12 and bone health). Tell your doctor about other medicines (e.g. clopidogrel). Use in pregnancy or breastfeeding on advice. Store in a cool, dry place. This product information is for general guidance only and does not replace professional medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before starting any new medication or supplement. Keep all medicines out of reach of children.
