Overview

Sobisis Forte Tablets (100 pack) contain sodium bicarbonate 1000mg, an antacid and alkalinising agent. As an antacid it neutralises excess stomach acid to relieve heartburn, acid indigestion and a sour, upset stomach, and it is also used under medical guidance to make the blood or urine less acidic in certain conditions (such as metabolic acidosis in kidney disease). A familiar, fast-acting remedy helping people settle acidity and indigestion. Confirm the active on the pack.

Directions for Use

Take only as directed on the label or by your doctor. For indigestion/heartburn, the stated dose is usually taken with water, ideally an hour or two after meals, not on an overly full stomach. Swallow with a glass of water. Take it a couple of hours apart from other medicines, which it can affect. For occasional use. Do not use for more than 2 weeks for indigestion without medical advice. For acidosis, follow your doctor's specific instructions.

Contains a significant amount of sodium. Do NOT use if you are on a low-salt diet, or have high blood pressure, heart failure, swelling (oedema) or significant kidney problems, unless your doctor advises, as the sodium can be harmful. Do not exceed the dose, as too much can upset body salts and cause bloating. See a doctor if indigestion persists beyond two weeks or comes with alarm symptoms. Use in pregnancy only on advice.
