Overview

Vermox Suspension (mebendazole) is an anti-worm (anthelmintic) medicine used to treat common intestinal worm infections, including threadworm (pinworm), roundworm, hookworm and whipworm. It works by stopping the worms from absorbing the sugars they need, so they die and are cleared from the gut. The liquid suspension form makes it easy to give to children and adults , and it is a widely used, effective treatment for worm infestations.

Directions for Use

Shake the bottle well before use and measure the dose with the device provided. For threadworm, a single dose is often enough, with a second dose after about 2 weeks if advised. For other worms, it is usually taken twice daily for 3 days. Follow the packaging or your pharmacist's instructions for the correct dose by age. It can be taken with or without food.

Follow age guidance. Not generally for children under 2 except on medical advice. Not recommended in pregnancy (especially the first trimester); seek advice if pregnant or breastfeeding. For threadworm, treat the whole household and follow strict hygiene (handwashing, short nails, washing bedding) to prevent reinfection. May cause mild tummy ache or wind.
