Creon 10,000 contains pancreatin, a mix of natural digestive enzymes (lipase, amylase and protease) that help the body break down fats, carbohydrates and proteins from food. Each capsule provides 10,000 units of lipase. It is a prescription medicine used to treat pancreatic enzyme insufficiency. Where the pancreas does not make enough enzymes. Which can occur in cystic fibrosis, chronic pancreatitis, after pancreatic surgery and in some other conditions. Creon helps improve digestion and nutrient absorption, easing symptoms such as bloating, fatty stools and weight loss.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Use only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Take the capsules with every meal and snack. Swallow whole with water during or immediately after eating. Do not crush or chew. If swallowing is difficult, the capsule may be opened and the granules mixed with a small amount of soft, slightly acidic food (such as apple purée) and taken straight away without chewing. The number of capsules is set by your doctor.

Tell your doctor if you have cystic fibrosis, as very high doses have rarely been linked to bowel problems. Drink plenty of fluids each day. Use in pregnancy or breastfeeding only on medical advice. Do not hold the granules in the mouth, as this may irritate the lining. Tell your doctor if symptoms such as abdominal pain change.
