Overview

Alugel Suspension 100ml is an antacid suspension based on aluminium hydroxide that neutralises excess stomach acid. Relieving heartburn, acid indigestion, sour stomach and the burning of hyperacidity, and also used to help control raised phosphate in some kidney patients under medical direction. The smooth gel coats and calms an acid-irritated stomach.

Directions for Use

Shake well. Take the dose stated on the pack (typically 1-2 spoonfuls) after meals and at bedtime, or when symptoms strike, without exceeding the stated daily maximum. Separate other medicines from antacid doses by at least 2 hours. If using it for phosphate control, follow your doctor's specific instructions.

Aluminium antacids commonly cause constipation. If you need regular relief beyond two weeks, seek medical review. Use caution in kidney impairment (aluminium can accumulate). Kidney patients should use it only as directed. Antacids reduce absorption of many medicines (certain antibiotics, iron, thyroid treatment). Separate doses.
