Overview

Ezetimibe 10mg Tablets (28 pack) lower cholesterol by a route different from statins. Blocking the absorption of cholesterol from food in the gut. Used alone when statins aren't tolerated, or added to a statin for extra LDL ('bad') cholesterol lowering, ezetimibe helps reach cholesterol targets and reduce cardiovascular risk from one daily tablet.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Take one tablet once daily, at any consistent time of day, with or without food. If you also take a statin, you can take them together. Continue your cholesterol-healthy diet and attend scheduled cholesterol and liver blood tests. Do not stop without medical advice.

Generally well tolerated. Report unexplained muscle pain, tenderness or weakness, particularly if also taking a statin. Report symptoms of liver trouble (yellowing, dark urine, persistent nausea). Liver tests may be done, especially when combined with a statin. Not recommended with active liver disease, or in pregnancy and breastfeeding when taken with a statin. If taking a bile-acid binder (e.g. cholestyramine), separate the doses. Tell your doctor about all medicines.
