Overview

Rovas 5mg Tablets (30 pack) contain rosuvastatin, a cholesterol-lowering medicine from the statin family. It is used to lower high cholesterol. Reducing "bad" LDL cholesterol and triglycerides while raising "good" HDL cholesterol, and to reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke and other heart problems. Rosuvastatin works by blocking an enzyme in the liver that makes cholesterol. The 5mg strength is a common starting dose. Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor. Usually one tablet once daily, with or without food, at the same time each day, swallowed with water. Keep taking it regularly even though high cholesterol usually causes no symptoms, and do not stop without advice. Continue your healthy diet and exercise alongside it, and attend your cholesterol and liver blood tests.

Report any unexplained muscle pain, tenderness or weakness promptly, especially with fever or dark urine, as statins can rarely cause serious muscle problems. Avoid excess alcohol, and tell your doctor about liver, kidney or thyroid problems, diabetes, and all other medicines. Do NOT use in pregnancy or breastfeeding. Store below 30°C.
