Overview

Cilneb 10/5mg is a prescription combination medicine for high blood pressure (hypertension), containing cilnidipine and nebivolol. Cilnidipine (a calcium channel blocker) relaxes and widens the blood vessels, while nebivolol (a beta-blocker) slows the heart rate and reduces the heart's workload. Together they lower blood pressure more effectively than one medicine alone, and may cause less ankle swelling than some older calcium channel blockers, helping adults control hypertension.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor. Cilneb 10/5 is usually taken once daily, at about the same time each day, with or without food, swallowed with water. Take it regularly even when you feel well, and do not stop suddenly. The beta-blocker should be reduced gradually under medical advice, as stopping abruptly can affect the heart.

This is a prescription medicine. May cause dizziness (especially when standing up), a slow heart rate, tiredness or ankle swelling. Tell your doctor about asthma or COPD (beta-blockers can worsen breathing problems), a very slow heart rate or certain heart-conduction problems, diabetes (it can mask low-blood-sugar warning signs), or thyroid problems. Do not stop suddenly. Avoid grapefruit juice. Tell your doctor about other heart/blood-pressure medicines. Use in pregnancy/breastfeeding only if advised. Store in a cool, dry place.
