Overview

Presartan-H Tablets (28 pack) combine losartan, an angiotensin-receptor blocker, with the diuretic hydrochlorothiazide for high blood pressure that needs more than one medicine. Losartan relaxes and widens the blood vessels by blocking a hormone that tightens them, while hydrochlorothiazide helps the body clear excess salt and water. Together giving smoother, more effective 24-hour blood-pressure control from a single daily tablet. Lowering blood pressure helps protect against stroke, heart attack and kidney problems. A convenient, doctor-prescribed combination for people whose hypertension is not controlled on one drug alone.

Actives: Losartan potassium 50mg and Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5mg per tablet.

Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor. Usually one tablet once daily, with or without food, swallowed with water. Take it at the same time each day, ideally in the morning (the diuretic can increase urination). Keep taking it even when you feel well, and do not stop without advice. Attend regular blood-pressure, kidney and electrolyte checks.

Do not use in pregnancy. This class can harm the unborn baby; tell your doctor at once if you become or plan to become pregnant. May cause dizziness, especially at first or on standing. Rise slowly. Can affect potassium, sodium, blood sugar and uric acid (caution with gout and diabetes). Tell your doctor about kidney problems, dehydration, and other blood-pressure or potassium medicines.
