Aldactone 100mg Tablets (10 pack) contain spironolactone, a potassium-sparing diuretic prescribed for fluid overload in heart failure and liver disease (ascites), resistant high blood pressure, and hormonal conditions such as primary aldosteronism. Directions for Use

This is a prescription medicine. Take only as directed by your doctor. Commonly 25-100mg once daily with food, in the morning to limit night-time urination. Doses are titrated to your condition with regular blood tests. Do not stop suddenly in heart failure without medical advice, and attend all monitoring appointments for potassium and kidney function.

Raises potassium. Avoid potassium supplements, salt substitutes and routine NSAIDs; combination with ACE inhibitors/ARBs needs blood monitoring. Watch for muscle weakness, palpitations or numbness (high potassium signs). May cause breast tenderness or enlargement in men, and menstrual changes. Reversible on stopping. Avoid in severe kidney impairment, Addison's disease and high potassium. Use in pregnancy only if clearly needed. Store below 30°C.
